Friends and family, some of you know by now that I've been volunteering every Tuesday night for an hour or 2 in helping tutor a Kenyan boy who is attending high school here in Denver and that in the near future I also plan to mentor a teenage boy who is a Somali refugee starting at the end of this month or early November. The organization I've been volunteering my time through is called the Bridge Project. They are affiliated with the University of Denver and their mission is to help children and youth living in Denver's public housing neighborhoods to achieve their academic potential and graduate from high school with the resources necessary to succeed as adults. For more on the Bridge Project, visit http://www.du.edu/bridgeproject. We've got some great folks in place to help with the mission but additional funding is always welcome. As a result, I'm doing my part to drum up some extra dollars by growing a hideous 'stache to support our cause. Will you join me by making a modest donation? I know these are tough times, but I'm not asking for much. Every little bit helps and if I can coax just get a little bit from each of you, it'll go a long way towards helping these needy kids get the proper resources to help them further their education. Thank you for your time and consideration! Mo

I'm about to complete my 4th year as Program Director for the Colorado State Boards of Dental Examiners, Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators, and Veterinary Medicine. I was born in Nairobi, Kenya and have also lived in Mogadishu, Somalia, Khartoum, Sudan, and Kampala, Uganda. I moved to my father's home town of Geneseo, which is located in Western NY where I attended high school and college. I then lived and worked in Washington, DC for 6 1/2 years after graduating college, where I was involved in similar employment as to what I currently do in CO for about 5 1/2 of those years. I then moved out to Denver in the fall of '06, my 4 year anniversary is this Saturday actually. I love CO and see myself staying here for quite some time.
